Turducken
The guys at work have this game in the workshop, if you make the call and then come up trumps, you’re the man. If you go out on a limb and pull off some minor miracle then you get the award.
Well, I do believe when it comes to Christmas dinner, I’m the man! I’ve been spouting about the turducken for a week now and yesterday I pulled it off.
The stuffing was easy, the boning process took a couple of hours and then assembly was pretty straight forward. The stock and gravy cook for hours but didn’t need any special attention. The bummer was waking up a 3am to turn the oven on. A turducken takes 9 hours and we don’t have a timer on our oven!
For those not in the know, a turducken is a turkey stuffed with a duck stuffed with a chicken. I heard about it on a podcast, found the recipe online and yesterday I served it for dinner. Four adults and two kids barely eat half of it so we’ll be lunching on leftovers for a while.
The finished product was delicious. I would highly recommend this to all foodies.
